Janessa is a witch's brew of illustration, traditional sign painting techniques and creative grit. Fueled by the outdoors and relentless pursuit of adventure, her work lives at the intersection of art and environment, where brush strokes become trail markers and color palettes echo the shifting seasons of the Pacific Northwest.

As a muralist and illustrator, Janessa creates visually engaging experiences that tell stories rooted in place. Whether on a towering multi-story wall, digital rendering for print or a sketch book page, her recent projects reflect a deep connection to the land -- Celebrating natural rhythms, wild landscapes and the emotional terrain we travel as humans in a rapidly changing world. Like the quiet presence of a deer moving through old-growth forest, her work seeks harmony with the spaces it inhabits -- grounded, observant and deeply attuned with detail. In a culture of constant motion, a time where it's easy to feel disconnected, her artwork offers a pause, a moment to breathe in the stillness between light and shadow -- a breath of wind as a hawk soars above tall trees, the hush of snowfall amongst the mountains, the warm glow of desert light, a shadow cast across stone covered in lichen. Influenced by the raw poetry of the natural world, each brushstroke carries the memory of moss, mountain and moonlight. acting as a visual reminder of the natural worlds presence and power.

Through color and form, she invites the viewer to return to the quiet wisdom of the earth, to feel the thread that binds us to the sky and soil and to remember that we are not separate from nature but of it. Her color palettes often echo the sunrise and sunset.
